Materials
Materials We Work With
TMS works with a wide range of formable metals for CNC metal spinning, shear forming, hot spinning, thermal assisted forming and custom metal forming applications.
Material selection is a critical part of every metal forming project. The behaviour of each material during spinning or forming depends on its thickness, geometry, mechanical properties, surface condition and production quantity.
TMS evaluates each part according to its material, geometry and application requirements, then defines the most suitable production route.
Aluminium
Aluminium is one of the most commonly used materials in metal spinning and custom forming applications. TMS works with aluminium materials for parts requiring light weight, good formability, corrosion resistance and clean surface appearance.
Typical aluminium applications include lighting components, reflectors, covers, housings, HVAC parts, ventilation components and decorative metal parts.
Depending on the project requirements, commonly used aluminium grades may include 1050 aluminium and other formable aluminium alloys. Anodized aluminium components can also be considered according to the part geometry and surface requirements.
Stainless Steel
TMS produces stainless steel components for technical, industrial and food-related applications where corrosion resistance, strength and durability are required.
Common stainless steel materials include AISI 304 and AISI 316, depending on the application and customer requirements. Stainless steel parts may require careful process planning due to higher forming resistance, springback and work hardening behaviour.
For suitable geometries, stainless steel forming can be supported by CNC metal spinning, shear forming, thermal assisted spinning or combined forming processes.
Copper
Copper is used in applications where good thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance or decorative appearance is required.
TMS can produce copper spun and formed components for technical parts, decorative products, food-related applications and special customer-specific components.
Due to its forming behaviour and work hardening tendency, copper parts may require special process planning, intermediate annealing or thermal support depending on the part geometry.
Brass
Brass is suitable for decorative, architectural and technical metal components where surface appearance, polishability and corrosion resistance are important.
TMS can produce brass spun and formed parts for decorative applications, lighting components, architectural metal parts and customer-specific components.
Depending on the final surface requirement, brass parts can be prepared for polishing, coating or other finishing processes.
Mild Steel and DKP Steel
Mild steel and DKP steel are used for many industrial forming applications where strength, cost efficiency and weldability are important.
TMS works with DKP steel and mild steel materials for machine parts, housings, covers, formed components, welded assemblies and industrial metal parts.
Depending on the part geometry and thickness, the production route may include CNC spinning, forming, trimming, flanging, welding and calibration operations.
Special Alloys
For selected applications, TMS can evaluate special alloys such as Inconel 625 and other high-performance materials.
Special alloys require careful technical evaluation before production. Material behaviour, forming limits, heating strategy, tooling design and production quantity must be considered together.
In suitable applications, thermal assisted spinning, hot spinning or combined forming methods may be used to improve material flow and process stability.
Material and Process Selection
Choosing the correct material is only one part of a successful project. The production method must also match the part geometry, tolerance requirements, surface expectations and production quantity.
TMS supports customers in evaluating the most suitable production route for each material and part design. Depending on the project, the process may include CNC metal spinning, shear forming, hot spinning, deep drawing, trimming, beading, flanging, welding or assembly operations.
